Montville - STSCS (SS) Michael LaRose, U.S.N. retired, 66, of Uncasville, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

Born in Oshkosh, Wis., on Aug. 22, 1948, he was the son of Patricia (Borsche) LaRose and the late Raymond LaRose. He married Judy (DeRagon) LaRose on April 22, 1972 in Winterhaven, Calif. Mike retired from the Navy in 1988 after proudly serving as a sonar tech. on board the USS Sea Owl, USS John Marshall, USS Sam Rayburn, USS Thomas Edison, USS Alexander Hamilton, USS Snook and USS Andrew Jackson.

Subsequent to his retirement from the Navy, he went on to work for Scientific Games until 2009 when he retired due to medical reasons. Mike loved the Green Bay Packers, but not as much as he loved fishing. He also enjoyed his "Tuesday Night Computer Geek" meetings. Mike was a member of the American Legion Post 112 and a life member of VFW Post 10060, and Sub Vets, Groton Chapter.

In addition to his wife, Judy; he is survived by his mother, Patricia LaRose of Oshkosh, Wis.; two sons, Michael LaRose Jr. and his wife, Belle, of Uncasville and Gregory LaRose of Coventry, R.I.; his two grandchildren, Cassandra "Casey" LaRose and Brandon LaRose of Uncasville. He is also survived by his brother, Steven LaRose and his wife, Jackie, of Greenville, Wis.; along with a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold.
